I don't know where my ancestors came from -- the south was settled by a lot of Scots-Irish, but there are also communities with names like Berlin and Hamburg around here, so who knows?. Give the amount of red hair in my family, though, it's a safe bet that there's Celtic blood running around.Stephenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15097908023032528200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980951139270141970.post-26164369618130704032015-03-25T13:20:32.674-05:002015-03-25T13:20:32.674-05:003 books on the 'Irish Problem' coming up s...3 books on the 'Irish Problem' coming up soon(ish) at my place.... At some point I want to read "The Southern Agarians and the New Deal", in which the Traditionalist authors of "I'll Take my Stand" respond to it. I'm assuming opposition to the New Deal, given how anti-modern the twelve Agrarians were, but one never knows. Some paternal aspects of it might have been attractive, as they were to the group Alabama.Stephenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15097908023032528200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-980951139270141970.post-63738656792475803822015-03-25T11:22:17.974-05:002015-03-25T11:22:17.974-05:00This sounds like a very good combination of southe...This sounds like a very good combination of southern history and family history and that may be interesting. However, I detect a bit of romanticizing from the discussion of the "New Deal". <br />Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00561320676355168336noreply@blogger.com
