A lot of lessons were learnt but it cost a lot of lives to do it. I don't know the full details so I thought I should read up on it.<br /><br />I saw several of Lord's other books for sale during my search for his Dunkirk book. There are quite a few older books in there that I've long taken for granted, so I want to try to read a few before we send them to smaller libraries.<br /><br />Have you read both of his books on the Titanic? He wrote a sequel after the Titanic wreck was discovered in the 80s. Evidently Lord has done other war books, a few WW2 titles and one from 1812. <br /><br />I was curious about Dunkirk, myself: it's always mentioned in WW2 histories, but only in a paragraph at best.
